EXPECTATIONS MOVING PICTURES
With over 12 years of commercial production experience and sporting the latest in camera gear Kara Jensen certainly has what it takes to fulfill her role as the principal of Expectations Moving Pictures and as a respected member of the wedding filmmaking community in Central Oregon and beyond. An active member of many national wedding filmmaking Associations, including WEVA, Wedfact, {Infocus}, and Re:Frame, Kara makes the effort to attend conferences and workshops several times each year to learn about the latest developments in the field of wedding filmmaking. She is well-connected with leading professionals in her field and keeps in touch with her peers for support and inspiration through social media and networking.
But beneath the high-tech, high motivation surface is where Kara and her team really shine. Committed to telling the unique and personal story of every newlywed couple, the Expectations approach to wedding filmmaking goes beyond the norm. “We make films for people about people,” said Jensen. “We work hard to create a special relationship with each of our clients so that when the big day arrives we are friends and not just ‘the folks with the cameras.’”
Jensen approaches each wedding with a fresh and engaging eye, and with years of experience and a friendly, non-invasive manner she and her team strive to capture the true heart and personality of each ceremony. “I’ve been fortunate to have been a part of hundreds of weddings over the years,” said Jensen. “And each one has been truly special and captivating in its own way. I feel that it is truly an honor to be part of such a sacred event in people’s lives.”
New this year Expectations is offering Same Day Edits (SDE) where footage captured just hours earlier at the wedding ceremony is edited and ready to be shown to reception guests. “And for people who like that nice grainy saturated look of real film I love to shoot with my vintage Super8 camera,” said Jensen. “Or maybe a bride or groom likes documentary style which I also really enjoy. Oh, and I love to do destination weddings too!” Enthusiasm for her profession shines through Jensen as she speaks of the work she loves to do, and the creative ideas just keep coming. Her goal is clearly to provide not just a professional wedding video, but a truly moving picture.
